Re: Cannot export, but no special characters in labels

You might want to try the latest Beta version of Audacity - you can download it from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/beta_windows . I believe that they have made the FLAC export work ok in 1.3 - and you will find much improved label handling amongst other useful new features. Don't be put off...

Re: Sperating Album Tracks. Easiest way?

All you need to do is to place a label at each track break - use the Ctrl-B shortcut - and don't forget to place a label right at the beginning for the first track. Then use Audacity's Export Multiple command (available from the File drop-down) to export a multiple set of WAVs, MP3s or whatever. The...

Re: How to achieve that clear-crisp radio FM sound!

When i listen to the radio in my car i can turn it up all the way and be satisfied, but with my ipod forwhatever reason it only goes up so far. Just a thought - you haven't by any chance set that little setting on your iPod ( Settings > Volume Limit ) which limits the sound output level have you? A...

Re: Recording Problems & Questions

flash, wouldn't it be much easier for readily available items like Quadrophenia just to buy the CD (£6 on UK Amazon - $14 on US Amazon) - rather than spending your valuable time tryng to copy what is probably a poor tape? I digitize and clean a lot of LPs and tapes, but usually only the ones that ar...

Re: Click/pop removal - ClickRepair software

Six month review of use of ClickRepair For the last six months I have been gathering statistics on my use of ClickRepair on the digitized recordings of my LP collection. In that period I have processed 102 LPs - of that sample: 60 of them 58.8% required no further click/pop editing 28 of them 27.5%...

Re: Poor Sound Quality & clicking noises with XP64 edition

I think you may be right about the ION soundcard getting its power from the USB/PC - IIRC when I had my ION it was possible to plug in a tape deck to the ION and record ok without turning on the TT - but that is not the cause of your problem I think. Can you set your virus software so that it ignore...

Re: Recording from internet won't work.

It depends what the soundcard (and its associated drivers) on your new PC supports. On some computers this is labelled What-u-hear, though this differs. It seems that many soundcards in new PCs have had this ability "removed" presumably to inhibit recording of copyrighted material .... Fro...

Re: newbie question

Joel, i needed advice on which turntable and system to buy: the Ion or the numark, or the audio technica- . ION & Numark are both made by the same company - the electronics are sound - but on most of them the platter is a little light. Can't comment on the Audio Technica. I started out with an I...

Re: Poor Sound Quality & clicking noises with XP64 edition

This last item is the killer because there is little you can do about it, and it is quite common with the ION TT's. For some reason the ION USB interface seems to be right on the edge of working / not working, so any slight change (a different USB socket for example) can make all the difference. No...
