Re: problems importing music?!?!
You have two basic options: 1. find and use some converter software to convert your file to a type that Audacity supports 2. play the file in any music software that supports that particular file format and record it in Audacity. There's a free program called SUPER by erightsoft that can convert mos...

Re: letter "z" doesn't work in label track
It's a known "feature" of 1.2.x (a search of the forum will yield several other similar postings) - IIRC it's down to the k/b shortcut mappings. It works ok in 1.3.5 where label handling is much improved. When I was using 1.2 I used to just put a capital Z in the label for export and then ...

Re: Cleaning up vinyl rips
As I'm sure that you realize already (from your comment about not having the raw rips) it is far from ideal to do editing work on MP3s that are already compressed, as when you compression them again to MP3s later they will suffer further compression damage. My inclination would be to just live with ...

Re: No sound out of speakers
Or try shifting to a different USB input on your computer - some folks find that helps (it is possible that you have an iffy USB connection).

Re: Eliminate clicking from concert tape
You might want to try Brian Davies' excellent Click removal tool. It costs c. $40 - but you can install it and use it for free for a 21-day trial period. You can get it from here: http://wwwmaths.anu.edu.au/~briand/sound/software_download/clickrepair_info.html I tried this package at the end of last...

Re: Imported audio playback problems
You are almost certainly trying to import a file type that Audacity does not support . Audacity Supports WAV, MP3, OGG and FLAC & MP2 in 1.3. If this is the case you have two basic options: 1. find and use some converter software to convert your file to a type that Audacity supports 2. play the ...

Re: Making tracks on a cd
All you need to do is to place a label at each track break - use the Ctrl-B shortcut - and don't forget to place a label right at the beginning for the first track. Then use Audacity's Export Multiple command (available from the File drop-down) to export a multiple set of WAVs, MP3s or whatever. The...

Re: After Selecting Language as Spanish, I Can't Change the
1.2.x does indeed use the registry to store your set preferences - including language settings. 1.3.x uses a configuration file (one per user) audacity.cfg. When you install 1.3.x it looks at the registry and makes a copy of the 1.2 settings (if present - i.e. if 1.2.x has been installed and used) f...

Re: Bug report
I have often had two instances of Audacity open to do what Mauri is trying to do and it has worked fine, The difference between Mauri's usage and mine is that I do not close the second instance of Audacity after I have made the cut odf a selected Audaio section from the second project. Just to be cl...
