Re: LAME encoder properties

Yes there is a know bug in Audacity 1.3.5 MP3 export where Bit Rate Mode and Quality choices in Options dialogue are ignored, producing 128 kbps CBR irrespective of what has been selected, and the reported length is often incorrect although the actual length is fine. Hopefully this will be fixed in...

Re: how to remove a voiceover?

No, not the same. I bought my CD years ago. Tetchy, tetchy - and holier than thou ..... Most of the recordings I have made off FM over the years have led to the purchase of LPs and later CDs. The recording enables me to live with an artist's track for a while to see if I really like it. And actuall...

Re: how to remove a voiceover?

Yup, it's just like when annoying DJs insist on speaking over the start and end of a track when you're trying to record it from FM ...

Re: Noise Removal Follies

As Steve says ClickRepair is good for removing clicks and pops - and also consider the other piece of software by the same Author (Brian Davies) for DeNoise - you can get them at: http://wwwmaths.anu.edu.au/~briand/sound/software_download/ They both cost, but are well worth it if you have a lot of r...

Re: transfering aup,s to itunes

Hello again Desmo, this is a potentially serious problem for you that requires farly URGENT attention. It means that you are running out of hard drive space on your disc and that means soon that evrything on your computer may stop working for lack of space. So it is important that you feee up some s...

Re: Shortcuts conflicts with entering label text

If you don't like these default shortcuts you van either remove them or change them via you Audacity Preferences - go to Edit>Preferences>Keyboard

This should sort out the problem for you,

Re: Alot of static

I would strongly recommend buying ClickRepair (which I use in conjuction with Audacity for LP transcription & clean-up). See this thread of mine: http://audacityteam.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=1994

Re: Audacity Won't Export...

Just a thought: you're not trying to create an MP3 filename with any special characters (like ? etc)? If so try exporting with a simpler alpha-only filename instead. (1.3 Audacity is now more helpful in this respect - it tells you when you have illegal characters in a filename).

Re: slow down audio

With 1.2 you can select the audio you want to alter and then apply the Effect Change Speed

In 1.3.x there is an additional control box called "Play at Speed" which lets you speed up or slow down the played audio without actually changing the audio.

Re: Volume level changes while recording

Hi Carl, many thanks for this very valuable tip, and for sharing it with the Audacity community. My new Dell laptop came fitted with a Realtek HD card - and your post probably excplains a slightly odd recording I made recently of a friend reading a poem. Have you experimented with using/not using th...
