IIRC from reading the Wiki - it may be that the developers are considering putting in a feature for signal activated recording.

Re: Export multiple problem
Actually in 1.3 labels can either be a labelled refion as Steve writes and nicely shows in his posting - but 1.3 can also have single point labels too, just like 1.2. If you use single point labels with 1.3 for Multiple Export then Audaity will eaxport each section between two labels as a "trac...

Yup that's it - your soundcard is a SigmaTel.
Unfortunately i can't help you directly as neither of my onboard soundcards is a SigmaTel - hopefully a SigmaTel user may see this post and be able to help.

Re: ION USB turntables (and clones)
I confirm the excessive wow of the top model (certainly on the one that I bought). The top model also has a built-in pre-amp (the device is switchable between line level and phono level). I found the electronics to be good and it does have a volume control (albeit inconveniently placed) - but I aban...

Sorry, I don't know what sound card I have .... gd, in Windows if you go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices - and click on the Audio tab - you should be able to click on the drop-downs for playback and recording devices and this should show what your soundcard is. WC

Re: How do I properly uninstall 1.2.6 before installing 1.3.
If you want to uninstall 1.2.6, just delete the Audacity folder from the Windows Programs directory. It will leave a couple of registry settings behind, but this will not affect Audacity 1.3 or anything else. Actually it will have some impact on the 1.3 installation - as when 1.3 creates its config...

thencamenow: I have transferred your enthusiasm as a vote for this FR on the Audacity Wiki - It now has 12 votse and is in the "Highest Rated" section of the Wiki FR (10 votes or more takes a FR into this category). Just be aware that being in the highest rated section is still no guarante...
Re: cd burn
All you need to do is to place a label at each track break - use the Ctrl-B shortcut - and don't forget to place a label right at the beginning for the first track. Then use Audacity's Export Multiple command (available from the File drop-down) to export a multiple set of WAVs, MP3s or whatever. The...
