Try this page from the Wiki: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php? ... o_burn_CDs

Re: Recording Audio Off Your Computer
kiggs,
this page from the Audacity Wiki should help you: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php? ... s_Vista_OS
If you still can't get it to work then a possible solution would be to buy an external USB souncard and loop back the outputs to the inputs.

Re: Laptop noise problem
Do you get the same problems if you run the laptop on battery power only? This cures noise problems for some folks.

Re: Wave Forms
It sounds like you are getting clipping due to an oversaturated signal (i.e. it's too loud). With USB devices like this Audacity hands control over to the USB device so Audacity's input slider (volume control) becomes inoperative. From looking at yor device on t'interweb it doesn't look as though it...

Re: Fast Forward
IMHO It doesn't really need a fast forward. You can place your cursor exacly wher you like and then play from there - zooming out helps with this - and you want want to zoom to fit the project to the screen. Much more flexible than a tape palyer's FF/FR. In 1.3 there is a new toolbar , the Selection...

Re: RECORDING CONFERENCES ON AUDACITY
It's not so much the storage capacity that yAudacity has - it's more the capacity that your PC has. When you record with Audacity you should see an estimate of the remaining recording time nearr the bottom left of the Audacity window. Some people report problems at 2gb - but with one-hor "shows...

Re: No Previewing On Equalizer
IIRC there may have been a bug which afflicted this - so the developers may have (temporarily?) removed it.
But - a workaround: apply the effect and then use the Undo if it's not right.

Re: I'm a Dunce, Can You Help Me?
Yes you can combine them - they will automatically be combined on Export to WAV/MP3/whatever. Playing the project will play both tracks anyway, unless you "mute" one of the tracks - be careful of the mute function in 1.2 as there is a bug in 1.2 (fixed in 1.3) whereby the mute is not honou...
