Re: Can record but sound quality terrible
Good move IMHO When I recently bought my new laptop from Dell recently I insisted that they "downgrade" the O/S from Vista to XP-Pro and it has worked fine on Audacity for me (even allowing me to record streaming audio). I do note that it is still licensed as a Vista machine - thus allowin...

Re: Mono default !
When you install Audacity its is set by default to mono. All you need to do is go to Edit > Preferences >Audio I/O and in the top right hand box set the Channels to 2 (Stereo)

Re: Audacity in UK schools
Hi Carla, thanks for posting that "link" to the Bowland Maths site about the My Music project. As an ex-mathematician (and now keen user of Audacity) it was very interesting to see an application of Audacity to develop youngsters interests in mathematical concepts - and as you say it may g...

Re: No Line-In in Vista
George, I should have read your original post more closely. You already have an external soundcard - it s the ARTcessories USB Phono Plus - so you do not nned to buy either the Edirol or the Behringer. The USB Phobo Plus is a combined phono pre-amp and external (ADC and DAC) with a USB interface to ...
