Re: Why is my playback noise so low????
The level delivered to Audacity is controlled by your windows sound services (unless one uses a USB device in which case Audacity hands control of the sound services over to the SB device). You can get a the sound services thhrough the Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices - or your soundcard dri...

Re: error message
it listed a path (c:.....audacity_1_2_tempb00323.au) & "error 3 - the system cannot find the path specified". I cannot even find that path or directories on my computer. I am using audacity 1.2.6 with windows XP. It is possible then, that the directory or files are set as "hidden...

Re: New User (Help!)
Certainly should work in 1.2 - I just triedin 1.2.6cutting with the CTRL+C shortcut some selected audio and then creating a new track and pasting in with the CTRL+V shortcut and it worked fine. I does start at time=0 in the new track, but you can move this if necessary with the time-shift tool. In 1...

Re: Splitting file for CD track export
All you need to do is to create labels at each track break point (use the CTRL+B shortcut) - and tyhen use the Exporrt Multiple function. See this article in the Audacity Wiki: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php? ... ate_tracks

Re: Recording off the internet
No I didn't realize that, sorry. I am not a MAC user - but I seem to remember from various postings from Kozikowski that it is difficult to record streaming audio with MACs. He usually recommends a piece of Software called WireTap. You can use WireTap to do the recording and then move to Audacity fo...

Re: sound on playback
When you plug in a USB device like this the sound services are handed over entirely to it - both input and output. So what you need to do is to reset the output sound device to be your computer's onboard soundcard - in both Audacity via Preferences and in Windows via the control panel.
