This is easier to do in 1.3 than in 1.2 - as in 1.3 you get a little yellow vertical alignment bar on the track when the track boundaries are moved close togetther - plus you get a snap-to effect which helps too.
In 1.2 you could try zooming in (a lot) to make the alignment easier.

MNS,
please don't double post: it only wastes people's time and annoys them - and it doesn't get your problem answered any quicker. See my response to your same posting in the other thread.
I have locked this thread to prevent a parallel set of responses to the same problem developing.

Re: tempo change gradually
I have no practictical experience of tis , but I seem to remeber from reading earlier postings that you can do this in Audacity by adding a Time Track to your recording Tracks > Add New > Time Track . Sorry I can't actually advise how to manipulate it - try searching the forum and theWiki for "...

Re: Unwarp My Hits
Most likely its that you are getting what's known as "wow&flutter" - specifically in this case "wow" - caused by small speed changes in the turntable. This can be caused by any number of things: baldly balanced platter, too light a platter (see below), poor plattter spindle l...

Re: error message
One thing you could try to do is to avoid letting Audacity use the temp files at all.
You can do this by saving your totally empty project, prior to recording, to it's target projectname destination. This is often recommended as "best practice" anyway.

Re: WAV file OK, double-speed MP3
I assume that the WAV you export plays at the correct speed - right?
If so then you could try using an external program to convert the WAV to MP3 - there are any number available out there just Google for "WAV to MP3"

Re: echo while recording, how do i reset defaults
On 1.2 the preferences are held in the windows registry - so resetting can be tricky if you don't like editing the registry (I don't!). It's easier in 1.3 as the preferences are set per user and are held in and audacity.cfg file - so resettting is done in 1.3 by just removing this file. See this pag...

Re: Vista Imposible to record good way!
Indeed poor you with Vista - I insisted that Dell "downgraded" my new laptop to XP-Pro ! I therefore have no experience with vista but you may find help on these pages from the Audacity Wiki: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Windows_Vista_OS http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.p...

Re: Can't Get Metadata To Work
Not saving the projects and just exporting to .aiff is perfectly ok (I would make a backup copy of the .aiff files on a separate external drive for safety). I am not a Mac user - but on Windows I have tended to manage the editing of the metadata tags through Windows Exporer after exporting - I assum...
