Re: mp3 files arent exporting as vbr

Hopefully this'll get fixed ..... I believe that the developers are aware of this fault but haven't gotten around to fixing this yet, as they don't regard it as a high priority for Beta releases. But I would expect to see it fixed for the next stable release 1.4 - due next year sometime. Glad you g...

Re: Help no sound

On the basis of the sparse information that you have provided us - I infer that you are probably using a USB turntable, right? If so, then I would expect there to be nothing in the input selector drop-down. When you connect a USB device like this then Audacity realizes that there is only a single va...

Re: mp3 files arent exporting as vbr

IIRC from reading earlier posrtinfs theis was a kown bug with earlier 1.3 versions - so it looks as though this is still not fixed for 1.3..6 Workaround: Export as a .WAV file and then use an external converter program to convert to MP3 (there are plenty of free converters availabe on t'interweb). Re: inserting marks in a file for ease of playback

Placing a label at the current cursor position - use CTRL+B Or to mark the current position while playing or recording use CTRL+M This will create labels in a label track - afterwards you can jump from label to label with the tab key. (Note that labels are also used to break recordings into tracks -...

Re: selling Audacity on auction site Trademe NZ

Hi Paul, actually the Audacity folks do allow people to "sell" audacity - but the vendors have to abide by the licensing terms and restrictions, see this page in the Wiki: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=AudacityVendors Though having said that, there are many "vendors&quo...

Re: delete - when nothing is selected

I suspect that you have the ticbox set for "Select all adudio in project, if none selected" - accessed via Edit > Preferences > Interface

If so then uncheck this selection.

Re: USB Turntable - No Bass

There may a setting to switch between phono level and line level output - if so, read the manual that came with your TT to see how it should be set (from your description it sounds like the RIAA equalization is not being applied)

Re: Help a complete noob

A good start would be to have a read of some of the appropriate tutorials in teh Audacity Wiki: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Tutorials

Some of the "Off-site" ones that are listed are quite good too.
