Re: Exporting multitrack files

What I do is 1) name my tracks as 01 <track_name_1>, 02 <track_name_>, 03 <track_name_3> etc. 2) Use the Export multiple to export a set of WAV files to a dedicated folder for the particular LP 3) The export then provides a set of correctly numbered tracks with correct tracknames appended 4) Backup ...

Re: Question about Normalization (how does it work in Audaci

Koz has helpfully posted a summary of this on the "Adding Features To Audacity" sction of the forum. I have added a link back to this thread from that posting. In a month's time I will transfer it to the Audacity Wiki - where it will definitely come to the attention of the Audacity develop...

Re: Mixing Voice and Audio

Yes you can - Audacity is designed to be a mult-track audio editor. You will need to import the music track - and then record your voice track as a new track - actually you may find it easier to record the voice track first and then create a new stereo track and import the music track into a new ste...

Re: Converting MIDI files to WAV or MP3 files

Stevethefiddle gave you the right answer in the first response you got .... Basically you can't import Midi music directly into Audacity. Midi is not an audio format like WAV or MP3 - rather it is like a set of instructions: play this note for so long, then this other note for so long etc. (like the...

Re: Control Track to control effects

I dont think there is a tool to control fequency or pitch like that - IIRC this request has surfaced before and may be on the Feature Request list in the Audacity Wiki.

Re: Control Track to control effects

All you need to do is to use the Envelope tool (the icon has two triangles pointing to a centred dot with a blue line through it). You can drag the blue line around to vary the amplitude.

Re: Windows XP Pro SP3 Stream Audio Recording

My soundcard is an external USB soundcard - plugged to the PC via a USB port. On the soundcard itself there are two pairs of RCA sockets one for input and one for output (the soundcard is a two way device). So all that loopback is is connnect the RCA outputs of the device to the RCA inputs. And then...

Re: Too much gain on line in from tape player

sdrawkcab Just a thought - you say your set up is: guitar -> laptop[vista] [running revalver studio] -> tape recorder => Audacity This may be a dumb question, but what what "added value" is the tape recorder providing in there? Could you not just record direct to Audacity: guitar -> laptop...

Re: Trouble with USB sound card

With a USB sound device plugged in Audacity should be offering no selectable input choices - it should recognise that there is only the one valid soundpath (the USB one) and shut off allother options. Have you tried making sure the USB soundcard is plugged in and recognized by the computer - BEFORE ...
