You can't do it in 1.2, but you can in 1.3 - where the developers have added timed recording functionality. In 1.3 you access it from Tracks > Timer Record - it works well, I use it a lot.

If it was only a few clicks I would suggest just doing it by hand withe the Repair effect - but your posting implies that you have a lot of clicks to deal with.
