Re: How to delete unused files?
I think it's geting pretty close now - last I heard the developers were trying to get it out in the early part of next year. The latest beta versions seem to be getting pretty stable now. Part of the problem is the manual also still need some working on to get it into a fit state for 1.4 release. Th...

Re: Metadata What is it?
A little googling gives: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metadata - and many many more articles on metadata, but the Wikipedia aricle seems a good place to start ....terryxela wrote:Hey guys where can I read information about the metadata editor and metadata?

Re: What file formats are what?
To make CD's you will need to export as 16-bit PCM stereo WAV at 44.1kHz (this is the Red Book standard for CDs). You will need to use good quality CD-Rs and not CD-RW's. See this article in the Wiki: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Transferring_tapes_and_records_to_computer_or_CD And t...

Re: Stereo tracks not stereo
When I start recording, there is no difference between left en right channel. So I suppose that is monorecording. Not necessarily, most of the time the two stereo channels look pretty much the same - try zooming in (a lot) to see if they really are the same. Also try recording something which has a...

Crash Recovery is unfortunately not very good in 1.2 (It is much improved in 1.3, much more automated and Iit does work in 1.3 I had to use it this weekend). This page from the Wiki may help you in recovering your 1.2 project: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=CrashRecovery I also seem to...

Re: Burned cd has no sound on standalone cd player
Glad we got you working ... I myself use TDK CD-R80s all the time - I have made only 2 coasters/beermats out of c. 300 used Just one other thing to remember about those CDs you make - they are phtosensitive, that's how they get "burned" in the first place - so do make sure you keep them ou...

Re: Audacity 1.3.6 -- whistles when exporting to MP3
What export bitrate are you using? Have you tried setting a higher bitrate?
And what happens if you use an external converter program to create your MP3s?

Sometimes you can cure thi with virus checkers so the they "ignore"/"trust" all .aup and .au files.
Not all virus checkers let you do that - it's been a while since I used Norton so I can't comment directly on their s/w.

Re: Preferences, Dreaded Windows Registry or CFG file?
You thinking of abandoning MACs and going Windoze then Koz ????? 1) My understanding is that if you have previously installed 1.2.x on a windows machine with its preferences stored in the registry and then install 1.3 - Audacity will then copy the preferences from the registry and use these as its ...
