Re: Audacity ok - no sound on vista - have updates

badacko, please don't be impatient and double post - I have just responded to you exact same question in the original posting you made (and please note that here too you don't provide sufficient information for anyone to properly analyse your problem). (I do have to go to sleep sometimes - just star...

Re: Audacity working but lost all other sound on Vista

Yes now that I know that you have a USB TT I can probably help. When you plug in a USB device like the TT that you have - Audacity (and Windows) hand over control of the sound services to the external USB soundcard that you have built-in in you turntable - both input and output sound services. Now s...

Re: Audacity working but lost all other sound on Vista

Are you by any chance using a USB device - a USB turntable say? 1.2.4 is now very old and the very least you should upgrade to 1.2.6 (1.2.4 has memory leaks) - or even to the beta 1.3.6 which is pretty stable now. You can get the updates from: http://audacityteam.org/ - IIIRC there have been other p...

Re: Best Turntable for about $100?

airhendrix, thanks for posting back and letting us know which one you bought. Good to have a cover (I think the original design was based on the DJ kit that they produce without covers - on the basis that they will most likekly be stored and transported in hard cases). Part of the price reduction is...

Re: Your Favorite 1.3...

I used 1.3.5 for a long time with no problems - upgraded to 1.3.6 recently and no problems encountered (apart from trying to find a few things that have been moved around in the UI).

Re: Generate Silence Hot Key

Koz the silence generator has a deop down list from the down-traingle at the right of the time box - this defauls to seconds as you have pointed out - but the drop-down lets you select a whole raft of formats - including hh:mm:ss + milliseconds. I does work but there appears to be a bugette - it gen...

Re: voice activation

This means you're possibly the key tester of this new functionality! That's one of the main things that beta is for - to let us users test functionality and provide good bug reports back to the developers. Do try and keep accurate records of your set-up at the time, and to note down exactly what hap...

Re: speed conversion

Plus the RIAA equalization curve is differebt for 78s than it is for vinyl. Actually for 78s ther are several diffent RIAA curves sa there were no standards set back in those early days of recording and each manufacturer applied their own RIAA EQ.

Re: Backward Compatibility

D'oh... - yes I did mean can't then be opened any more in 1.2 Though note that if you export a 1.3 project as a WAV file you can then trot this file over to 1.2and open it up quite happily - not sure you'd either want to or need to though as these later releases of 1.5 from say 1.3.5 onwards ...
