Another tip for you. While you are recording, when you get to the intertrack gaps you can put down a marker in Audacity - use the CTRL-M k/b shortcut.
A marker is effectively an empty label which you can edit later (for position. content or both).

Re: How to find start of song QUICKLY in project
What I do is to name my tracks thus: 01 <track_name-1> <artist-name-1>, 02 <track_name-2> <artist-name-2>, etc. I export as WAVs for CD burning and for loading into iTunes/iPod as compressed AAC. The 01, 02 etc track numbering makes it easy to get the tracks in the right order on the CD I burn. On i...

Re: Mixtape Label Challange!
when you say one continuos mix - do I take that correctly to mean "without track brreaks"? If so then the problem may well be with tour CD burning software, or the way you have it set up. I'm also assuming that in Audacity you've already fot it playing as the continuous mix that you requir...

Re: How do I convert a track to monophonic
The easiest way is to use Audacicty 1.3 (the Beta - but now a very stable beta) where the developers have kindly added a stereo to mono tol. In 1.3.6 it is accessed through Tracks > Stereo Track to Mono
You can upload 1.3.6 from here: http://audacityteam.org/

Re: USB Driver not installing
Ok - first try to help by telling us which make an model of USB TT yoo both have. I'm somewhat surprised that you need to load USB drivers - most of these USB devices are normally plug-and-pray, plug' em in and away they go. That was certainly the case withe the ION iTTUSB that I bought a couple of ...

Re: exporting mp3 (320kbps)
The developers moved it for 1.3.x - rather than being a preferences setting, it is now available under the "Options" button on the Export dialog box - fooled me too when I first moved from 1.2 to 1.3 :) BTW you don't need to reset it every time - as Audacity remenbers your previous setting...

see this article in the Audacity Wiki: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Splitting_recordings_into_separate_tracks You should normally be able to link to the Wiki directly from the forum - but the link has recently disappeared (they are working on restoring it). The Wiki is worth a good l...
