Re: No sound and corrupted files!
I'm assuming that you are using a USB device, right? As this is when this problem normally occurs ... When you plug in a USB device like this your computer hands over control of all sound services to the USB device - both input and output. Since you USB TT doesn't have a set of speakers, you then do...

Re: recording from turntable issues, HELP! Please
Have you actually tried pressing the red record button? Monitoring is not turned on by default in Audacity (unlike your old tape deck or MD deck). And how you turn it on is not obvious - just click once in the recording meter bars, clicking in there again (while monitoring wil turn it off). Clicking...

Re: exported tracks overlay instead of follow each other
So I basically place the starting point of the 2nd track to the end of the first track right above it. You will find later this year when 1.4 is finally released that this alignment will be made much easier in 1.4 Audacity (you can try it now in 1.3.6). The track ends snap to each other when close ...

Re: Tone Arm does not return
This is not an Audacity question - you will need to read the manual for your turntable.

Re: Bad software disc
The details of this TT available on t'interweb are sparse to say the least - so it is impossible to tell what software they shipped with it. Should work fine with Audacity though (you most likely shouldn't need special USB drivers) - and you can download Audacity free from here: http://audacityteam....

Re: which format?
You should export as 44.1kHz 16-bit PCM Sterreo WAV (Red Book standard for CDs). Always use good qualit CD-Rs and not CD-RWs. And ensure that you use your CD burner to bur a music CD and not a data CD. For more detail see this article in the Audacity Wiki: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?titl...

Re: problem with exporting files with "?" in name
Yup, a recent post by Koz pointed out that then only punction characters taht can be used safely in filename are - and _ (dash/hyphen & underscore). Even spaces are suspect and should be avoided if you want true file portability. Audacity 1.3 is more helpful as it warns you rather than just drop...

Re: Sudden (white) noise while recording
Peter,
Could you give us some feedback later on the Lenco turntable - Iv'e used an ION iTTUSB and now use my old Technichs TT, But I would be interested in hearing how the Lenco performs.
Glad you got it working - have a good New Year,
WC
