Re: Which Sound Card Line-In

John, glad you're pleased with the Edirol - and don't forget that it is a two-way device i.e. you can set it to be sound output device for your PC in preference to the onboard soundcard. You will probably get much better sound quality doing this. Options are to use headphones or active loudspeakers ...

Re: Aucacity Makes Audio Crash on My Computer

Re: english not chinese language

To change the language use: Edit>Preferences - Edit is the second command in from top left, then Preferences is the bottom selection in the drop-down list. Then you need the Interface tab, which is the third one in from the right. Language is selected from the only drop-down list in the dialogue box...

Re: STEREO

It's sounding like the USB services in your TT may be at fault. Since your RCA outputs deliver proper stereo to your mini hi-fi, you could try commecting these RCA leads to the line-in (NOT the mic in on your PC - as you are working with a laptop you may not have a line in socket). You will need an ...

Re: uploading from a web site

BGP - provided that you can set Audacity to record streaming audio (note that not all sound cards/drivers will allow this) the you can just play the music in YouTube and simultaneously record it in Audacity - this way you will get an Audacity project that you can export to WAV or whatever without an...

Re: WIKI Link

That looks OK. I just noticed this. Do we follow the Chicago School of putting a comma between "answers" and "and" in the subheading? Koz The Guardian Guide to English Usage would be horrified at the idea of an additional comma between the "answers" and the "and&q...

Re: STEREO

Could it be that one of the channels ( in the turntable head ) only gives 1 channel trough the USB cable to my laptop ? Yes that's quite possible - check that the four leads from the cartridge to the headshell are all connected properly (take care, the pins are fragile) - and that the headshell is ...

Re: new to audacity

I have quite a few vinyls that are 40-50yrs old,as well as some 78's(haven't tried them yet) ...nt Just be aware that when playing 78's you really need a different stylus - the grooves are bigger on 78s and the typical stylus designed for vinyl will wallow around in the bottom of a 78 groove pickin...
