Re: Help with the Timer Record feature.

I'm one of the people that use it very regularly (like you, to time-shift late broadcast FM radio). And while it works well most of the time I have had two occasions wher it failed. So I think it is still alittle buggy. On these two occasions I had it set to record a show from the BBC duration about...

Re: Audacity Crashed - recovered manually

Just to point out that crash recovery is much improved in the Beta release of the software - and 1.3 is now pretty stable, I use it all the time. I've had occasion to use recovery in 1.3.6 a couple of times recently (when I had to force a crash to get the misbehaving timed recording to stop). Both t...

Re: How to convert Joint-Stereo to Stereo in Windows MediaPl

My understanding (and we're close to the edge of my technology here - so someone please correct me if I am wrong) is that you get to be able to record higher frequencies - probably beyond the range of your hearing (certainly as you get to my age - but possibly not for you younger folk). Re: I have no Sound on my computer

When you plug in a USB device like this your computer hands over control of all sound services to the USB device - both input and output. Since you USB TT doesn't have a set of speakers, you then don't get any sound from the computer (not even the normal Windows sounds). All you need to do is to get...

Re: How to convert Joint-Stereo to Stereo in Windows MediaPl

AFAIK 16-bit PCM Stero WAV at 44.1kHz is the only way to make a proper CD that will play in all CD players (it is the Red Book standard that was laid down for CDs many years ago) - the files on the CD aren't actually WAV files thought the CD structure uses its own format (which is why you have to ri...

Re: How to overdub existing track?

It's supposed to create a new track - Audacity is a muti-track editor. You can either merge the tracks together with Quickmix in Audacity 1.2 or with Mix&Render in 1.3.x - or on Export to WAV or whatever file format you choose Audacity will do the tracks meging anyway. Just be careful with your ...

And please don't double post - it only wastes peoples time and annoys them.

And Iv'e already posted the same answer to your query in the inappropriate section of the forum where you double posted.
