@benshope - why are you attempting to record from a CD rather than ripping it to a set of WAV files?

The only time that I had to do that was with the one CD that I purchased that hed wretched copy protection on it - so it would play in my CD deck but not on my PC, nor would it load into iTunes.

You don't really want MP3s - use iTunes native AAC compression format instead. Audacity can't export to AAC, but you can export as WAV and then import the WAV into iTunes as an AAC.
