Re: Audacity 1.3.7: Sound stuttering after long recording
Actually my Windows is on a different disk than my data drive with 293 GB free. The data drive is the first partition of a raid0 disk. This then may well be the problem - is your Raid disc an external USB or Firewire disc? It is not normally recommended to use Audacity to record onto an external dr...

Re: English grammar errors in Help Contents
No .... I'm casting my mind back to an episode of The Simpsons where Homer doesn't want to go to English classes at school, and states "What do I want to learn English for - I'm never going to go to England ....."

Re: No sound
USB devices have a habit of hijacking the entire sound – output as well as input – and they don’t tend to have loudspeakers (hence “no sound”). What you need to do is to direct the Windows sound output to your computer's soundcard (In Windows this is: Control Panel>Sounds and Audio Devices>Audio>Sou...

Re: Selection and Labels
Not as far as I know in 1.2 - but in v1.3.x the labels have become "sticky" and hovering near them will cause the cursor to align with them.Radiohead wrote:Is there a way to select the area between two labels?

Re: Media demo
It sounds to me as though you have not actually downloaded Audacity (which is free) and instead have AVS (for which they will try to charge you). AVS advertises on the Sourceforge site where Audacity is held for downloads (it's unfortunate - but Sorceforge needs the revenue). You almost certainly ha...

Re: Organizing Effects (Group)
In 1.3.6 the effects were organized into groups - for 1.3.7 the developers appear to have reverted to the un-grouped menu.

Re: Export finishes, then crash
As is with any "programming", the rule of thumb should always be ... "SAVE YOUR PROJECT REGULARLY." Wise words, wise words. To which I would add: save a separate copy of your project under a separate name prior to starting any edits - known as the dry copy. This way you can alwa...

Re: Should I install audacity will it mix songs?
@benshope - why are you attempting to record from a CD rather than ripping it to a set of WAV files?
The only time that I had to do that was with the one CD that I purchased that hed wretched copy protection on it - so it would play in my CD deck but not on my PC, nor would it load into iTunes.

Re: split tracks?
You don't really want MP3s - use iTunes native AAC compression format instead. Audacity can't export to AAC, but you can export as WAV and then import the WAV into iTunes as an AAC. (Size for size - and bitrate for bitrate AAC is normally reckoned to get better sound quality than MP3) See this artic...
