Re: Administrative
I had MacAfee Site Advisor have a look at the link - it gave it a green light, so I went to the site. Looks like it did have Audacity stuff there, but also looked like thay were charging for it.

No, no, no - split infinitives are fine by me (and by The Guardian's Style Guide too). To Boldly Go...... (it's just not at all the same if you don't split the infinive) Though I did get into trouble when I first visited the US many years agowhen I told a friend that I would "come round and kno...

Re: What bit rates for MP3's are generally considered low, m
Ummmmm. I do use 256, yes. I use 256 AAC, not MP3. Yes I neglected to say that the 192 bitrate is also AAC and not MP3 - for the same reasons as Koz. Re: What bit rates for MP3's are generally considered low, m
128 is normally considered the minimum level for music - eith 64 as a gerneral minimum for voice. When I ripped my music I started off with 192 as a good compromise between sound quality and storage space - but now that I have a bigger iPod and a bigger laptop for my iTunes library I wish 'd started...

Re: No ability to choose MP3 bit rate under Preferences, als
Uninstalling won't help you - as Audacity stores your preferences in the Windows registry in 1.2 (in 1.3 a preferences file called audacity.cfg is created - and uninstalling doesn't remove this either). What you need to do in 1.2 is to go to Edit > Preferences > File Formats you will see in the bott...
