You can't just move the folder - you would need to move its associated .aup file along with it.

You need to open the .aup file NOT the individual .au files in the folder - you should leave the project folder well alone, it's the job of the project's .aup file to manage the contents of the folder.

the .aup file (effectively the data manager) sits alongside the projects data folder - thy must both be in the same folder.
