Re: Importing a sound file - problems!

You are almost certainly trying to import a file type that Audacity does not support . Audacity Supports WAV, MP3, OGG and FLAC & MP2 in 1.3. If this is the case you have two basic options: 1. find and use some converter software to convert your file to a type that Audacity supports 2. play the ...

Re: Sound Card Reviews

ION appear to have launched a standalone external USB soundcard - the U RECORD - with an inbuilt pre-amp (suitable therefore for use with turntables, cassette decks or FM radio input). See http://www.ionaudio.com/urecord I have no experience of this device itself - but I am assuming that it is basic...

Re: Hey guys, question about file size...

A useful workaround would be to export as WAV files and then find a standalone WAV to MP3 converter (a quick google of t'interweb should probably find you a free one).

Re: Volume fading

This is most likely to be down to poor adjustment of the tape transport mechanism or poor head alignment - either on the machine you are playing on or the one you are recording from. Generally it is probably better to use the same machine for both, but I'm guessing that as you say this is an "o...

Re: Audacity and LAME software caused system crash

Well I'm very surprised. I've used Audacity for 3 years or so now without any problems like this. And there are many other users around the world - Audacity is a highly recommended program by mavy people. Are you sure that it is Audacity that you got? Where did you get it from? I note from your othe...

Re: How to Remove Audicity Beta Program?

If you can't see it in the installed programs list, then you may find a little utilty that you can download from Microsoft useful - it's called Windows Install Clean Up (I had to download recently to clean up a failed Qucktime/iTunes update installation when it all go out of kilter). Note that to to...

Re: Audience Removal

If the audience is noisy during the performance then this kind of removal will be all but impossible. However if all you are trying to do is to remove applause/cheering at the end (or even beginning) of numbers then you can just delete most of the applause and use the Fade Out effect (Fade In for th...
