You have actually Stopped the recording and not just Paused it - if you are in Pause mode then the export button (and many others) will be greyed out.

The problem comes when you actually start editing a Project. Should you, say, import a sound clip into your show, that clip, in its current location becomes part of the Project. You can Save Project all day long, but if you move that one clip, the show collapses. Unless that is you take the trouble...

Can you set your McAfee so that it "trusts" and therefore ignores files with .aup and .au extensions?

Yes it may require a bit of housekeeping to keep such playlists intact. It's a shame the in the conversion that iTunes doesn't offer the option of replacing the existing music file and in the process adjusting all pointers from playlists etc. This would also enable me to remove step 5 from my workfl...

Are you absolutely sure you are Exporting an MP3 and not just Saving the Project? The Save function creates/uodate Audacity projects, which are a comple cloud of little files held together by a master file for the project. You description of "seeing" the stuff seeem to sugeest that you are...

Or you may be blocking popups - in which case you should see a message in the message area near the top og the browser window asking if you want to allow the download.
