You need Audacity 1.3.7 and not Audacity 1.2.x - in 1.3 there is a new feature for Timer Recording ( from the Tracks menu orSHIFT+T is the k/b shortcut to invoke this).

Re: Export lacks "punch"
My understanding was that it was the legendary Bill Graham who ran the Fillmore who had the foresight to keep the tapes recorded off the mixing deck - and we should be glad that he did. Go to the link for Wolfgang's vault that was posted above by dbish, Koz - and die happy ... there's shed-loads of ...

IIRC this may be a bug that has been reported already - I seem to remember a similar posting fairly recently but I can't find it again.

Re: newbie - no sound visually
Just click once in the input meter bars - this will turn monitoring on - clicking again (while monitoring without recording) will turn monitoring off. Clicking in the meter bar while recording/playback will retain montoring but re-set the meter. This is poorly documented and non-intuitive - and has ...

Re: Speeded up play-back in exported MP3s
WMP is not highly regarded by several posters on this forum. Why not try using iTunes (it runs fine on PCs and is downloadable for free - and IMHO is a good jukebox system). You can then export your WAVs and import/convert those into iTunes as AAC (or even MP3 if you prefer). With AAC you will still...

And as Gale suggested to you on the Audacity email helpline - try re-booting your PC.

Re: When will 1.3.x be out of Beta version
Well the developers are working with a 1.3.8 Alpha - so there's a chance thay it might get released as Beta .... AFAIK the focus at the moment is on bug-fixing with no functionality extension.

No experience of this device myself - but there have been shed-loads of postings about Presonus - try using the Search function at the top right of the Forum window.
