Re: Is the "broken vertical line" syndrome still a mystery?

I used to get this symptom occasionally when I was still using 1.2.x - I don't ever recall seeing it in any of the 1.3.x versions I have used for the past year or so. You might want to try upgrading to 1.3 - 1.3.7 is pretty stable now, but you may wish to wait a couple of weeks as I undestand 1.3.8 ...

Re: Finding the exact edit points

Is there a feature that allows you to move the cursor back and forth over a section while you can HEAR the sound (rather than just look at the signal) to make sure your edit points are in exactly the right spot? No, what you are asking for is known as "scrubbing" and this is not an availa...

Re: Envelope Effecting Both channels

Split the Stereo track - click on the little downward pointing black triangle in the Track Control Panel to the left of the track (easy when you know where it is - but not intuitive at all!) and select Split Stereo Track . Then you can manipulate the left and right channels independently. When finis...

Re: Cannot open Project File

You should always try to open the .aup file. The .bak file would have been created the last time you did a "Save Project As" - so it is a backup vn. which may well be out of date.

Re: MP3s options and Audacity...?

In Audacity 1.2.x you can set the MP3 exported bitrate from Edit > Preferences > File Formats - but note that you have to have installed the Lame library correctly for this to be operational. You can set the sample rate to 44100 Hz from Edit > Preferences > Quality And you can set Audacity to work i...

@sjrooney. See this sticky thread: http://audacityteam.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=9477

@george13 - perhaps we can encourage you to add a short review of your Apogee Duet to the above sticky thread - it will be much appreciated?

Re: mp3 export weirdness

Koz doesn't mean that those other formats are not supported - he really means that MP3 has high portability among many diverse platforms. i.e. it will pay on a lot of different portable music players and computers/jukebox software. AAC, for example is well supported by Apple Corp. (it is their propr...

Re: deleting mp3 files...

Lenny, The desktop should really be considered only a temporary location for working files - and a location for shortcuts to commonly used functions. Much better programming practice to store your files in proper folder locations that you manage and house-keep (just like your mother telling you to p...

This is me writing that down, as yes it does indeed work like that in 1.3, just tested it.

Amazing the tips and tricks you can learn here, thanks for that Koz.

Re: generate click track?

It's still there in my installation of 1.3.7 (sixth menu item down) - but I am running PC/Windows XP not MAC, so can't vouch for a MAC installation.
