Re: separating LP tracks

Question on Click Remover "effect": Haven't been able, through the deep, deep science of heuristics, to find any settings on the click/pop remover effect which actually do anything--like, eliminate the clicks. So I've been using the "Repair" effect. When I digibitted my LPs I st...

Re: separating LP tracks

...is there a "cookbook" approach described somewhere that suggests how best (or at least usefully) to use Audacity to digitize old LPs into iTunes and subsequent printing out to CDs? The Audacity Wiki has a wealth of information - and all available for free. In particular see: http://wik...

Re: can't hear the recording until I press record

No Koz, it's still just the same. :( I don't think the developers perceive it as a problem - despite email discussions and postings in the Feature Requests in the Wiki. My old R2R tape deck and later cassette decks all had monitoring on all the time IIRC - so if a signal was present it showed ...

Re: Tone Generator

Topic moved to the Pending Feature Requests page on the Wiki for future triage by the developers - but retained on the forum and moved to Audio Processing as it contains relevant discussion that may help others.

Re: Sound Input Error

It often happens because Audacity can't recognize your soundcard - or because you have specified the wrong number on channel inputs in your preferences (which then don't match with what your soundcards supports).

Re: Audacity.exe encounters an error and aborts

Doug, 1.3.7 is now even closer to what the next stable release will be (likely to be called 2.0). A further beta version 1.3.8 should be released shortly, it fixes a few bugs that exist is 1.3.7. I have used only 1.3.7 since its release and have found it emminently stable for the work I do with Auda...

Re: Splitting A Long Track

There is a setting somewhere in preferences that eables you to suppress the metadata editor. I'm not at my normal workbench at the momnent so I can't fire up Audacity to tell you in more detail.

Re: How to: (Normalize) or "vertically center" an audio trac

You have some DC offset on that signal (possibly a faulty soundcard) - which is why one of the options in Normalize fixed it for you.
