Re: OK KNOW WHAT ???????
If you can't get LAME to work as an Audacity plugin - then you might want to try finding a standalone MP3 converter (a bit of Googling should find you a free one on t'interweb. Even iTunes can do this for you, but it's a bit fiddly). Then just export WAVs from Audacity and run them through the stand...

Re: Can,t record from CD in laptop
That's because your soundcard and it's associated drivers don't allow you to record whatever is playing on your computer. I bet you can't record ftom Youtube either. It's because manufactures seem to be making this difficult - presumably to make piracy harder. You can get around this by using an ext...

Re: how to question
The earthin wire is normally a thin black wire - if supplied it should be permanently connected inside your TT - the free end normally hsa a flat spade connector (U-shaped). There should be a metal screw-threaded post on your pre-amp with normally a knurled nut on top. Attach the spade connector to ...

Re: how to question
Normally a phono preamp will have two pair of RCA sockets - one for input and t'other for output. Both are colour coded red and white to identify the stereo, normally white for left and red for right. To connect the TT - you should have a lead coming out with three wires - two thicker ones with RCA ...

Re: New Amp with Usb Capablity
What this device will have onboard as well as the amp and the other equalization/effects gubbins is its own ADC (Analog to digital converter - aka soundcard). So what it will deliver down the USB cord is not an amplified analog signal, but rather a stream of digibits (the pre-converted signal) - so ...

Re: 'The application has failed to start' etc
It is 1.2.6 you are installing - and not the latest Beta version 1.3.8?
We did see some similar problems with the early 1.3.8 releases on Windows XP - see: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 24&t=11706

Re: Failure Saving MP3 files
Are you by any chance using non-standard characters in your track/song names - inparticular avoid characters like / and : - it's often easiest and safest to stick to purely alphanemeric plus underscore - this will give filenames that should be portable across all operating platforms.
