There' a lot of "stuff" between your vinly discs and the software in Audacity - and you haven't really told us enough about it. Model numbers and details of connectivity are good.

Depends entirely on whether your soundcard and its associated driver software enable you to do that. Manufacturers seem to be removing this option - presumably to make piracy more difficult. You need to have the option to record "Stereo Mix" or "What U Hear" - or somesuch - it va...

ignatz, it is quite a possibilty that that is indeed the case. The development team is fairly small, there is only one MAC developr for example, so it is quite possible that Audacity has not been tested in the envirinment you have.
