Re: Jumping to certain time?

AFAIK you can't do this in 1.2.x - it was a new feature/toolbar that was introduced in 1.3.x

Re: Song Seperation

Or have you inadvertently switched to using simple Export rather than Export Multiple?

Even if you have a label track to identify the individual songs - if you then just do a simple Export then you will only get a single file with all the songs in it together.

Re: Retrieved Files

You may find it advantageous to upgrade to the Beta vn. 1.3.8 - 1.3.x has MUCH better recovery handling.

Re: Recording time again

What I would do (and indeed what I personally do) is to leave my Audacity projects o my onboard hard drive while doing capture/edit. I then export sets of WAV and/or MP3 files and these are placed on my external 1TB dives (I actually have two so I have a backup copy). Then the Audacity project files...

Re: file recovery

Comp45 has not apparently lost his/her files - just lost/mangled the project structure - So the Data Recovery psoted in the last thread is not likely to help. I would recommend following stevethefiddle's advice.

Re: Missing Time Window

Koz,

does this last post of yours mean that you are now satisfied with the behaviour in 1.3?

Or do you still need me to transfer this as a feature request to the Wiki?

Re: Sudden input death

...till i can figure out how to thread the belt on the TT. Normally this is done by removing the rubber mat. You should find a couple of holes which will help you lift the platter off it's spindle (carefully!). Ensure that the belt is seated properly on the driving rim. Replace (carefully!) the pla...

Re: recording...acting strange, volumewise

I don't know the particular soundcard that you are using (you don't say what soundcard is installed in the m/c) - but may soundcards come with their own Driver/card management software which overrides the Windows Control panel settings. The Realtek on my laptop does this - where the pc arrived with ...

Re: MP3 Editing

No, Audacity will add further compression on export to MP3.

There are some simple MP3 cutting editors that should do this job for you - try MP3cut which is often recommended on the forum.

Re: Sudden input death

Then this is puzzling - normally it's the connection of external USB device (TT or soundcard)n that yields thsi sort of errant behaviour. Do you have any other device that you can connect to the line-in on your tower - a tape deck or an iPod say - and try recording from that. Sorry to hear the TT ha...
