Re: a new question about sample rate
Lenny, no you can work in 24-bit just downsample with Audacity on export to 16-bit PCM stereo 441.kHz - (if that is you want CD "standard" files). The 24-bit sample rate will give you extra headroom with the audio for editing and applying any effects that you require. So no need to re-reco...

Re: advanced alignment
Actually, for a change, I think this is in exactly the right forum. The reason that you haven't got a reply yet is because I think you have stumped the band. AFAIK there is now way to do this programmatically. I seem to remeber similar questions being asked before - and I don't recall any of thaose ...

Re: Recording RCA out into Laptop
@Nick - Steve is away on holiday for a bit now, so I will try to pick this up for him. I'm not a Behringer user myself (I run the Edirol UA-1EX) - from looking at the UCA200 on t'interwe, I see no reason why it shouldn't work. For example see: http://www.free-instrumentals.com/behringeruca200.html WC

Re: Recording time again
And the possibility of an external drive of that size being fast enough is zero. Koz Agreed, it is fairly slow even when just copying large files to it - but for backup/restore use that is not a major drawback We do something interesting. We have 1TB storage machines for our video, but internally, ...

Re: Splitting tracks - please help....
Yes, you can put down a marker (which is essentially a label. In Windows it's CTRL+M (I'm not sure what the MAC equivalent is - Apple-M ??) But that may give you inaccurate label positioning. What you really need to do is to learn how to use the zoom controls to zoom in annd out on the waveforms. Th...

Re: Splitting tracks - please help....
All you need to do is to place a label at each track break - use the Ctrl-B shortcut - and don't forget to place a label right at the beginning for the first track. Then use Audacity's Export Multiple command (available from the File drop-down) to export a multiple set of WAVs, MP3s or whatever. The...
