Re: I Need some advice with LP digitization
Jeremy, see this sticky thread for a review of external soundcards that we know work well with Audacity: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=9477 - I personally use the Edirol and find it produces excellent results. The iMic often gets a bad press on this forum - another regular p...

Re: recording SKIPS a bit every 6 seconds
It is true I have other things like a disc drive attached on USB, and a bunch of stuff running internally, like photofun studio. Capturing digital audio is quite demanding on a computer. Other applications running can sometimes give this symptom (particularly other heavy use applications like image...

Re: New Install - Menus are full of question marks!
To change the language use: Edit>Preferences - Edit is the second command in from top left, then Preferences is the bottom selection in the drop-down list. Then you need the Interface tab, which is the third one in from the right. Language is selected from the only drop-down list in the dialogue box...

Re: Recording maximizes at 0.5, playback works
I think the default sample format is 16-bit for me. Would it make a lot of difference if I upped it to 32-float? What does the sample format say exactly? Only if you've changed it to that - IIRC Audacity OOTB defaults to 32-bit floating 44.1kHz. With the higher bit rate you are using more bits for ...

Re: another question.....
Only if you come close to filling up the disk - I have thousands of songs on my computers. Or maybe Lenny you are asking about Audacity projects - if you have seventy five of those and try to be tidy by moving stuff around and cleaning up then you are likely to run into trouble. The times when my fi...

<<There are only 10 kinds of people in the world: those who understand binary and those who don't.>> actually there are 11: your two plus those who think they understand it - but don't really But back to your question. I too recall seeing something similar recently, but I can't find it in the forum...

Re: Can anyone help - please
How did you make the recording - help us out a bit here :) Did you buy any chance import existing stuff from another WAV file or from a CD? Did you by any chance write it back to the same filename that you imported from? UPDATE: and please don't double post, particularly by hijacking someboody else'...

Re: save project
Assuming that I have understood you properly and you have created a second stereo track below the first one. If that is the case then you can delete one of the tracks simply by clicking in the little X in the top left hand corner of the track.

Re: Sound Cards: Internal and USB
See this thread for reviews of soundcards that are known to work well with Audacity - and as sound output devices to hi-fi amps etc. http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=9477 I haven't actually connected to my hi-fi directly with PC/external soundcard - rather I make CD's from digi...
