Re: MP3 sound quality problem

It's not surprising that you're getting poor sound quality. MP3 is not a production format is is a delivery format (for use where space is at a premium and can be traded off against quality - MP3 is a lossy compression, it deliberately discards part of the audio signal to save space. Also you are co...

Re: Get audio ready for ringtones (hear phone from farther)

Don't know if this page from the Wiki will help (I have no personal experience of making ringtones - (my mobile was previously owned and used by Noah on the Ark ...): http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php? ... _Ringtones

Re: Pete Tong on Radio1-audio dropout

Yes, I saw that in another thread just after I'd posted here. I believe that the developers are aware of this.

Re: Missing cursor move / selection items on Mac?

I suspect what you really want is to do those tricks to a single clip buried in a much larger show or timeline. No, I don't think there are any automated tools to do that. Koz But you should be able to workaroiund that by cutting/copying the selection from within the show to a new track (if cutting...

Re: How would I automate file segments for Second Life forma

Please don't double post - it only annoys the volunteer helper eves who offer advice and assistance on this forum in their free time. Double posting only wastes their time - - risks fragmenting the thread - and doesn't get your query answerered any quicker. I have locked to thread to ensure that we ...

Re: 1.3.8 Truncate Silence Issue

I've just emailed Gale to see if the developers can take a look at this to ascertain if it is indeed a bug.

Compared to the cheapo cr*p devices that some manufacturers put into computers (to keep costs down) - yours is fancy :)

Anyway glad you got it working ...

Re: Recording Vinyls

Your ION should also have a pair of RCA leads - can you connect these to a hi-fi amp/mini-system/boombox? If so, does that play ok? WC You might want try a read of these pages from the Audacity Wiki (IMHO better than the ION manual) http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php?title=Transferring_tapes_and...

Re: 1.3.8 Truncate Silence Issue

Can you please test this on the same project (a copy of the same project) with 1.3.8 and with one of the older 1.3s - and report results back. The developers are working hard at the moment to hoover up as many 1.3 bugs as possible prior to getting some potential Release Candidates out the door prior...
