Re: how to seperate one large track in to seperate tracks?
It can be a little confusing as there are two types of label in Audacity: 1) the type shown in billw58's response to you where the label covers a duration (and in your posted example) - you can see the bold line extending the length of the labelled section. 2) labels at specific points (essentially ...

Re: Audacity cannot record sound and other problems
When you plug in a USB device like this your computer hands over control of all sound services to the USB device - both input and output. Since you USB TT doesn't have a set of speakers, you then don't get any sound from the computer (not even the normal Windows sounds). All you need to do is to get...

Re: how to seperate one large track in to seperate tracks?

Re: Need help - Device is blank
You do not need to remove the Audacity files - it is a registry/Preferences problem as Koz suggests.

Re: Imported .WAVs are oversaturated and unusable.
V. 1.3.9, Imported .WAVs are oversaturated and unusable. This does not happen with my 1.3.9 installation (on Windows XP-HE). I just tested it with a couple of WAV files that I created last week and they import (and open) at exactly the same amplitude tha I exported them at last week. So I'm puzzled...

Re: Distortion
When you connect a USB device like this Audacity hands control over to the device itself - so the gain sliders in Audacity no longer operate. You will need therefore to control the gain/volume at the USB TT itself. Some of them have gain controls (e.g. the ION & Numark ones do) - and some don't....

Re: No preference box
Well I'm extremely puzzled - my 1.2 version has a full set of Preferences tabs. I would suggest downloading the latest Beta 1.3.9 - you can get it from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/ Ignore the labelling that says "For advanced users only" and the "unstable" labelling in...
