Re: Export Selected Audio 7.5 Times Slower in 2.4.1

You set me off on a very busy morning of regression testing fortchagos ;) 1) there is definitely a regression 2.3.3=>2.4.1 of about 6-7 time slower on W10 30 versus 192 seconds 2) there was also a regression 2.2.2 => 2.3.0 2 times slower 15 versus 30 seconds on W10 3) even with 1.2.6 we were exporti...

Re: Time Toolbar: more options

The Time Toolbar can be made small or large (or even very large if you undock it and float it) . The easiest way to see total time of a track or project is to reset your Selection toolbar to Start and Length of Selection then just select the track or the project. Alternatively Shift+K will take you ...

Re: Export Selected Audio 7.5 Times Slower in 2.4.1

Yes you're right - good catch fortchagos 8-) I just tested on W10 with a generated one hour chirp on 2.3.3, 2.4.1 and the latest alpha test build I have for 2.4.2 WAV export 2.3.3 30 seconds 2.4.1 192 seconds 2.4.1 195 seconds so a factor of ~ 6.5 time slower MP3 export (default settings) appears sl...

And I too am a BIG fan of Brian Davies' ClickRepair - it produces almost magical results with damaged vinyl 8-)

Re: What happened to Waveform(dB) in v2.4.1

We changed that for 2.4.x (for consistency with the Spectrogram views)
Right-click in the Vertical Scale

If you want Waveform dB to be your default display type you can set that in Tracks preferences.

Re: Split New Should Create Bellow Selected

There was some discussion as to whether ii should be the selection or the focus (yellow border) that controls the placement - for 2 and 4 use cases here Selection would seem to be the obvious choice - and thus for use case 3 for consistency I, personally would also opt for "based on selection&...

Re: Split New Should Create Bellow Selected

I think this is a good idea. It belongs to a family of things that create new tracks that we know might be improved similarly. 1) recently we fixed Mix & Render to New Track so that it goes under the last selected track and Mix Aand Render replaces the last selected track But ... 2) Duplicate ad...

Re: crash in 2.4.1 when switching toolbars

Thanks, glad it is reproducible elsewhere, but at least the problem goes away once the cfg file gets updated, so not too difficult a workaround and probably not a widespread problem. Yes, but I'm assuming that you want to keep your carefully created audacity.cfg file settings So all you need to do ...
