Re: how to seperate one large track in to seperate tracks?

Glad we got you working at last :) Ringtones??? - my mobile was last used by Noah on the Ark so doesn't have such fancy stuff. :geek: But it is posiible to make ringtoones - though many posters on the forum seem to struggle doing so, The Wiki has an article on it: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index....

Re: very bassy recordings ...

Clare, I too record a lot offair from the BBC (including R3 - I'm listening to Charlie Gillett's World on 3 from last night right now) and I never experience anything other than true pitch and true speed. My settings are Project Rate 44100 Hz (bottom left hand corner) Preferences: Devices>Recording>...

Re: very bassy recordings ...

I'm still unclear why there are even different project rates. If people always use one - what are the others for? Baffling. Clare, The two most commonly used 44100 is used for CDs (it is part of the Red Book standard for CDs) - 48000 produces higher quality and is party of the DVD standard - and is...

<But, since this seems to be a poll:> Hey, I like polls too .... :) First of all I don't need to do anything to the preferences since I don't trash the preferences. Check 1. 32-floating to 16-bit. No , I leave this as default for editing headroom (and downsample on export to 16-bit WAV with triangul...

Re: (feature idea) scroll-and-center or maybe at 1/3rd

Say I hear the speaker burp loudly while listening to a hour long speech. Then I'd... Use pause! (p on the keyboard) This is to keep the marker where it was playing and this way I can look at something else instead of keeping track of it. (well, I found out this pretty quick) Jeol, you may prefer t...

Re: Recording Vinyl as 320 kbps

I would recommend that you set your Project rate to 44100 (44.1kHz) 16-bit stereo (this is the Red Book standardfor CDs). I assume from your posting that your are trying to export MP3s at a bitrate of 320 to get very high quality MP3s, right? As you haven't told us which version of Audacity you are ...

Re: how to seperate one large track in to seperate tracks?

BUT you've still got multiple labels at each label point - in fact you have two separate label tracks which may also be confusing Audacity. Now that you have your properly labelled track under the music track - just delete the label track with the multiple labels that is above the music track. Do th...

I've PM'd Buanzo (the Forum administrator) and Gale Andrews to see if this can be done.

Re: The use of markers

As Steve says - additionally you can add markers to the current playing position as Audacity plays (or records) by typing CTRL+M
