Re: connect amp to computer
Shouldn't really. I have the Technics ST-X902L from my wife's old component system (now the only surviving member of the system!) connected to my external soundcard and thennce to the USB input of my PC. This setup produces excellent off-air recordings - the external soundcard has a gain/volume cont...

Re: export Multiple
I am exporting as WAV. And yes, I am able to play them in the media player, and that's where I discovered that certain tracks weren't playing. Do you mean that you can "open" them in WMP but they produce no sound when you press play? If so, do the silent ones play for the expected amount ...

Re: Big mistake made by newby!!
If the the project is still extant, what you should have is a project file and a folder of audio and image clips. When you save an Audacity project as <project_name> it creates a number of things 1. a top level master project file called <project_name>.aup 2. a folder at the same filing level called...

Re: export Multiple
Hi Roy,
this is somewhat puzzling then.
So next questions:
1) what audio format are you exporting the files to?
2) can you open up these files in Windows Medai Player and play them?

Re: How to connect PA system to Audacity
Ther may be another problem - I took at look at the online manual for tha PA system - and I couldn't see line-out sockets anywhere. The only outputs appear to be the speakers. Is this correct ann1090?

Re: export Multiple
Roy, are you sure that you only have one label at each break point? I seem to remember a 1.2 posting from a while back wher the poster turned out to have created multiple labels at the same track break point - and this led to the creation of "empty" exported files. I also seem to remember ...

Re: 1.3.9 cannot record stream on xp2
If you didn't understand "loopback cable" then you couldn't have tried everything in that article. A loopback cabe is simply a cable that connects the outputs of the soundcard on you PC to its inputs (i.e. it loops back the sound coming from the PC back to the PC). See this page in the 1.3...

Re: Help! When I load a FLAC file, playback is garbled.
MME is an older sound interface than DirectSound (Audacity Stable 1.2.x does not support DirectSound). MME as far as I understand it resamples all audio to 44100 Hz before it is sent to the sound device, because it does not support rates higher than that. Gale, does this mean that DirectSound shoul...

Re: Can't hear the previous record
In 1.2.x go to Edit > Preferences > Audio I/O and check the box that says "Play other tracks while recording new one".
Or if you are using 1.3 (you don't say) Edit > Preferences > Recording and check "Software Playthrough ..."
