Re: New to digital -- and I miss my tape system.
What a lot of nice R2Rs (and a lot of nice clocks too)... How I miss thos lovely analog VU meters with the swinging needles, aahhh On point I would note - it looks from your vid that you may be in danger of oversaturating your signal. Digital Audio is not like tape (the physics is different) - there...

Re: Recording Vinyl as 320 kbps
Ok there may ve the odd vinyl crackle in it but that adds to the charme of vinyl anyway. You're like my son - he insisted that I supply him with undoctored versions of the transcriptions of my 45s that I made for him for his iPod - he wanted to hear them just as he remembered them on our old juke b...

Re: Recording works, but is VERY quiet... help?
As Koz says - and you would get a better idea of the amplitude if you switched the display from the default Waveform to Waveform (dB) . To switch the display just click on the little black downward pointing arrowhead at the top right hand corner of the track control box at the left of the track. In ...

Re: Playback troubles
Because you need a lot more than the aup file .... When you save an Audacity project as <project_name> it creates a number of things 1. a top level master project file called <project_name>.aup 2. a folder at the same filing level called <project_name>_data 3. and within the folder a sub-folder stru...

I have just submitted this link to McAfee for testing - I echo Steve's advice and would also recommend caution ...stevethefiddle wrote:

Re: Getting Audacity to work for stupid people like me
Adrian, if you really can't be bothered with the "fiddle arsing about" you might want to consider one of the devices that ION produce which is a turntable which will out directly to a recordable CD-R. See: http://www.ionaudio.com/lp2cd Peresonally I wouldn't and didn't do it that way - I s...

Re: How to get rid of yellow select-all rectangle?
This is really a 1.3 question not a 1.2 so you have posted in the wrong section
Go to Edit > Preferences > Tracks and uncheck the box that says "Select all audio in project, if none selected"
WC
I moved this to the 1.3 section - and left a shadow behind

Re: recording from sound board
Whether you can do this or not on a particular computer depends entirely on its soundcard and associated drivers. And note that manufactures appear to be removing this option more frequently now (presumably to aid stopping piracy - as if ... ). My older DEll desktop won't do this - but my newer Dell...

Re: iTunes compatability
Your question doesn't really make sense. ION ships its TTs with (amongst other software) Audacity 1.2.x (I would recommend upgrading, for free to 1.3.9 from http://audacityteam.org/download/ Adacity neither "supports" nor "doesn't support" iTunes. Audacity is a recording and edit...
