Re: Recording 33 1/3 LPs at 78 RPM
Yes correct. Shellac 78's had a different RIAA curve applied by the engineers when mastering - different fro the one used for vinyl. In fact not jus a different one but rather many different ones. Prior to viny there was no standardixation of the RIAA equlaization curve and each manufacturr used the...

Re: Recording 33 1/3 LPs at 78 RPM
I am assuming that my turn table (a Memorex 2650MMO) has a built in pre-amp when using the USB output. Does this mean that the equalization will be applied automaticaly (by the TT) based on the selected speed? Yes, USB TTs (normally) have an in-built preamp to pass the analog signal through prior t...

Re: mixing in a cross fade
I would do this by selecting the end of the first track and doing an Effect>Fade Out on the section you want to overlap. Then select the second track and do an Effect>Fade In on the overlap section..

Re: Recording 33 1/3 LPs at 78 RPM
However I have no idea what impact this may have on the resulting audio files. Will I lose any audio information in the speed change process? I'm no expert on this - but my understanding from reading earlier threads is that you will lose high frequency signa.Personally I wouldn't (and didn't) do it...

Hi Quasimodo,
I just read this thread and it has parallels with your problem - and your workaround ... http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 18&t=14014

Re: recording
I'm not certain, but I think they are planning to make Audacity 2.0 install without importing Preferences from earlier versions... I cetainly hope this is the case - IIRC one of the amin reasons was to aviod having to reload the LAME library all over ahgain when upgrading - but now that the LAME ve...

Re: Need Audio Software With Cut List
AFAIK the best you can get with Audacity is to set markers at the edit points while you are playing or recording - use CTRL+M . The "markers" are actually Audacity labels - and you can type into the label field when recording or playing (at least in 1.3 you can - can't remember if this wor...

In 1.3 (and thus in the upcoming 2.)) yes - but in 1.2.x no.
