Re: Editing
Unless it changed, that's it. You don't automatically "select" the area between the labels. You can use labels to assign written words to portions of the performance. But if you have used range labels rather than simple point labels - then you can select the labelled region with a single ...
Re: Editing
You can alos lay down a marker while playing (or recording) at the current position - just type CTRL+M The marker is actually just a point label - so you can type text into it to identify it (though you would probably have to be zoomed out to do this, otherwise your current section will quickly be o...

Re: Noise Removal Tool layers tracks?
Or you can get Audacity to continue recording for you after stopping. Just click SHIFT+Record or SHIFT+R - this will cause Audacity to continue recording at the end of the Audacity track.
(Don't try it if you have multiple tracks though - it will give an error message.)

Re: Unable to Export Large File
A friend of mine has on cassette tape the entire unabridged Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series of books as audiobooks read by the author. These were unavailable to buy from anywhere I looked so I decided to record them onto my computer. :o this surprises me - I bought the whole set in a boxed ...

Re: External Interface compatibility
The subject seems to be kinda scattered all over the place, do we have a "master list" anyplace of what's compatible and what isn't? My main purpose is to be able to ship digital audio back and forth between my computer/Audacity and both my TASCAM 2488neo and my Philips standalone CD reco...
Re: LP to HD
... is there software for removing clicks etc from a CD? As Koz says there is click removal in Audacity - but I found that Brian Davies' ClickRepair software worked much better. It costs a little, but is well worth it IMHO. See this thread: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=199...

Re: Disk space clean up
Have you searched for all the little *.au files and all the *.aup files? That is what will be taking up the space. BTW - you can make Audacity avoid using the temp files by saving any new project as an empty project as soon as you have opened Audacity up. This lets Audacity know where the project ws...
