Re: USB Turntable/Recording levels way too high
way2high, There is one other possibility for you. I believe thta your TT in addition to the USB output also has RCA output at Line Level (I.e.has passed through the on-board pre-amp and applied the necessary RIAA equalization) . They provide this normally to connect the TT to a line-in input on amp ...

Re: Windows 7 -fission turntable - noise removal
48kHz and 32-bit floating will give you very high qulaity recordings and plenty of headroom for editing. Note that if you want to export WAVs to burn to CD you will have to use Audacity to downsample to 44.1kHz 16-bit WAVs on Export. Audacity will/can apply dithering for you in this process and you ...

Re: Windows 7 -fission turntable - noise removal
Is the "static" you are trying to get rid of only in the gaps between the tracks - your posting suggests that may be the case? If so I wouldn't bother messing around with the "Noise Removal" tools - rather just select the track gaps and change the to silence, use CTRL+L . You may...

Re: Total Newbie - Please help
A further suggestion for you - rather than use the simple Fade effect which is linear - try using the Crossfade In and Out. According to the manual, the Crossfade shapes the fade to try to maintain a constant volume as the tracks fade in/out - so you may get better results with the crossfade.

Re: USB Turntable/Recording levels way too high
when you plug in a USB deck then the USB device takes complete control over the sound input and sound level. You can't choose any alternative input from the drop-down box and you can't adjust the input (mic) slider - well not until you unplug the USB TT from your PC. This normally isn't a problem as...

Re: Sound from 1 channel only
You need to set your Audacity Prefeferences to Channel: 2 Stereo (Audacity when first installed defaults to mon).
Go to Edit > Preferences > Audio I/O to make the reset.

tango, if you delve into the thread I posted the link to above in an earlier post in this thread, you should see the settings that I eventually settled on as my default for ClickRepair - done after extensive experimenting and listening tests on good quality eqipment. May save you a bit of time ... WC
