Further tip: when I do the labbelling to mark the tracks for Export Multiple - I label as: 01 <track_name_1>, 02 <track_name_2>, 03 <track_name_3> etc.
This helps me keep album tracks in the correct order when I use the WAVs to burn a CD or import them into my iTunes library.

Re: Vinyl Cleanup Best Practice
Bill's workflow is almost exactly the same as mine - except I mostly don't bother with the "Noise Removal" steps ( I did use Brian Davies' Noise Removal tools on a couple of my LPs which were old blues albums obviously recorded from 78s and at a time prior to the availability of digital pr...

From a quick Search of the forum that seems to be the case. Try typing Presonus or Firebox into the search box at the top right of the forum window and then click the Search button.hblair wrote: Is this a common problem??

Re: Weird problem, can't find a folder outside of Audacity..
Glad you got it working. Actually it's just as much a Windows issue as it is an Audacity one. The reason that Windows provides the My Documents folder it you are intended to place all your documents within that structure - and Auudacity Projects and Exported music filkes (WAVs MP3s etc.) are documen...

Re: Input Level Too Low
Actually, if you have your Audacity preferences set to the default 32-bit float then you should have plenty of headroom to apply amplification without deleterious effect onthe signal to noise ratio. You can Export to 16-bit on Export (Audacity will do the downsampling for you) if you are making WAVs...

Re: converts to mp3, then no sound...
Personally I wouldn't (and don't) use MP3s from Audacity on iTunes/iPod. Rather: export as WAV, import the WAV into iTunes, use iTunes to convert the WAV to AAC (at your selected bitrate), then delete the WAV version from iTunes. Size for size and bitrate for bitrate AAC is generally reckoned to pro...

Re: No sound, can't record
This is a USB device right? You do have it plugged in before starting Audacity? Which version of windows are you using? Have a look at this page in the Wiki - it's about USB TTs but some of the advice there will apply to USB soundcards too: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php?title=USB_turntables...

Re: audacity sound
i dont know if mine is faulty but the usb sound is clipped and distorded if it is on yours then the wave shape will have a flat top and bottom and not a variable spikey wave, feedback please? With USB devices the signal level has to be controlled before it gets to Audacity - the USB device changes ...
