Re: Recording into Pro Tools?

Are you still getting the same error message as written in your original post in this thread? Did you upgrade to Audacity 1.3.11 as Bill suggested? You are connecting directly through a USB port and not through your Digibox, right? Can you try without the digibox connected at all - as that could be ...

Re: No Sound

I hear faint sound as I play the record at 45rpm on the turn table but nothing thru the speakers. When you plug in a USB device like this your computer hands over control of all sound services to the USB device - both input and output. Since your USB TT doesn't have a set of speakers, you then don'...

Re: inserting track markers for a continuous DJ mix

Mind you, my iTunes/iPod default settings a while back seemed to be set to crossfade between tracks - a dumb default IMHO.

Do you fancy a crossfade in Turandot at the gapless track boundaries? Not what Puccini intended at all, methinks .... :)

Re: missing pieces true each track after recording

ok let's go a step at a time.

I'm assuming that at Steps 1/2, when the project is still in Audacity prior ro export to WAV, the music plays ok - right?

So ... when you get to steps 4/5 in my workflow, i.e. when you have imported the WAV files into iTunes, do they play properly in iTunes?

Re: Wave pattern in Audacity LP recording

Wow Bill - I'm really impressed with those diagnostic skills ... :ugeek: Before taking it in for a service you may want to try lubricating the bearing. You will need to take the platter off the deck(carefully_ - and don't damage the arm/cartidge/stylus)- and you will need to remove the belt (consult...

Re: inserting track markers for a continuous DJ mix

There are many rock/pop/etc albums too that were recorded with no inter-track gaps, including studio albums - Sgt Pepper immediately springs to mind (and that came out on vinyl before they invented CDs).

Re: missing pieces true each track after recording

As you're using iTunes I wouldn't bother with MP3 - rather I would use AAC which is Apple's format that it uses as default when you rip CDs into your iTunes library or if you buy a song from the iTunes Store. AAC generally gives better quality that MP3 for the same bitrate. Just export as WAVs from ...

As Steve says - and ... When you plug in a USB device like this your computer hands over control of all sound services to the USB device - both input and output.
