Re: Exporting a selected region seems to add more of track

This is indeed a bug - a well known bug in 1.3.10 whereby the export rounds up to the nest five second boundary. Use instead the 1.3.11 nightly build - which you can get from here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php?title=Nightly_Builds WC BTW you posted this in the 1.2 sectionof the forum - I w...

Re: Live radio stream query - urgent advice needed

By the way, should I switch to using Audacity 1.3.11 now, or should I stick with 1.2.6 (I know it's very old by now, but it works very well for me indeed)? As you work in IT support you probably know the answer. 1.2.6 is the officially declared "stable release" - but actually it's so old ...

Re: About Language

In 1.2 go to Edit > Preferences and click on the Interface tab.

This will bring up a dialg box - about half-way down is a drop-down which enables you to select the language. You may need to stop Audacity and restrat it for the change to take full effect.

Re: Monitor Input

Just click once in the input level meter bars - clicking again will turn it off. Or you can click on the downward pointing triangle to the right of the mic icon in the input meter bar and use the dropdown. This is a poorly documented feature of Audacity - and note that there is no visual cue to show...

Re: Does Anyone Still Listen to Vinyl Records?

Very interesting Bill. Yes the CD I have is the one with the two bonus tracks. I will have to dig out the copy CD I made from the vinyl and compare the two B2B. From looking at your graph though it looks as though what I was hearing was simply the result of the compression. <<<Finally, I have to adm...

Re: Does Anyone Still Listen to Vinyl Records?

Can't vouch for those I'm afraid. We'd already replaced vinyl with CD for all the others (actually my wife had -so it only meant we bought 3 copies of this between us 2x vinyl + 1xCD - unlike our 4 x Beatles collection 2xvinyl + 2xCD - and no we're not currently considering a fifth set of last year'...

Re: measuring frequency of a resonating wineglass

And BTW you are unlikely to find a single frequency - you should see a dominant fundamental tone - but also expect to see some overtones too.

Re: Does Anyone Still Listen to Vinyl Records?

Hey guys.. I'm normally a lurker, but am at my wits end with a long lasting argument w/ my girlfriend. She thinks Im absolutely crazy for liking and collecting vinyl... am I? And short answer: yes, lots of folk still listen to vinyl. In fact vinyl sales are on the increase right now (according to i...

Re: Does Anyone Still Listen to Vinyl Records?

Well I'm with Bill (and to som extent with the thrust of Koz' argument ) I'm slowly going through my old vinyl collection converting my LPs to CD and MP3. I haven't had a turntable connected to my stereo for 20 years now. During the conversion process I get rid of those annoying ticks and pops that ...
