Re: Convert space between clips to silence?

I think this is a known bug that the developers may have fixed for 1.3.11 1.3.11 is alpha software but is probably the best current release. You can get it from the nightly builds: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php?title=Nightly_Builds Or just carry on using your workaround until 2.0 gets relea...

Re: No Sound

There are simpler ways of listening to records rather than running them through Audacity :)

But have a look at this sticky thread, it may help you: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 12&t=16871

Re: Meter toolbar

When you are using a USB TT Audacity hands over control of the sound services to the USB device - so I would expect the sliders not to work to control the signal level. Instead I would expect to have to control the signal level at the USB TT itself - if you are lucky your TT will have a gain control...

Re: Continue on same track

With 1.2.6 you can press the Pause while Recording and then press Pause once again to restart.

In 1.3.x there is a new Append Record command - just use Stop to stop the recording temporarily and when you want to restart recording just press SHIFT+Record or Shift+R

Re: How to get defaults to work right in export-multiple?

I can try 1.3.11. IIRC it's marked experimental in gentoo, but easy enough to override that and install it. Labelling is much improved in 1.3.x The metadata is handled through a separate dialog box which you get as the first step of the Export Multiple process - unless you suppress it with a settin...

Re: I desperatly need help with my recording levels =[

You will need to tell us a lot more about your setuo - remember we can't look over your shoulder.

What computer, which operating system, version of Audacity, soundcard, turntable (a USB TT perchance)? We thrive on detail :)

Re: How to add a jingle into my mix to record later

Just use the Time Shift tool to move the jingles along the time line.

The Time Shift tool is the icon with the hoizontal arrow with arrowheads at both ends.

The Project will be mixed down for you automatically on Export.
