Re: Weak right channel

You may be able to correct for this post-capture by using the Normalize effect.

Audacity's Normalize works a little differently from most other implementations - it actually normalizes each stereo channel separately - so the net result is to balance the stereo channels.

Re: Newbie needs help.

My question is how do I bring that all into one MP3 The link that Koz gave you is the article in the wiki that tells all that we know about crash recovery in 1.2.x. Once you have recovered your project (not always possible BTW, but fingers crossed) it will be an Audacity Project - you will need to ...

Re: Bug: Now i am just dissappointed

Glad it was that simple - as I said Audacity doesn't take well to having its files moved around - but glad you got it back ok.

Re: Bug: Now i am just dissappointed

No - if you read the thread you will see that Steve is suggesting making regular safety exports to WAV format - Audacity projects can sometimes be brittle and fragile =paticularly if is dependent on external music files that you later delete/move/rename. - have you done any of this? The only time wh...

Ian - please don't double post, or hijack an existing thread - it only wastes people time and risks the replies being split across different threads.

Much better to do what you have done here and posted a freash thread.

I have removed the duplicate for you.

Re: Best settings for audio cassettes.

It also depends to some extend on what you intend to do with the recordings. For example are you planning to make CDs - or music DVDs - both have different formats?

Re: Select and replace

Your patience could be rewarded later - my understanding is theat having a "Proposed Feature" in the Wiki has a much better chance of getting implemented than the long list of Feature Requests in the wiki - and this particular one does alrady have some developer backing I note - so keep yo...

Re: How to get defaults to work right in export-multiple?

Unfortunately, I'm not out of the woods yet. I redid a couple of albums, exported all the mp3s, gave them to my wife, and discovered that itunes on her mac sees no metadata. I dug out id3v2 and it confirms that after all this effort, the things are being written with no metadata anyhow. I can bash ...

Re: Microphone Volume slider deactivated in 1.3.10

Oh yes it could - I get different behaviour between 1.2 and 1.3 on both my PCs - and indeed both my PCs are now running 1.3.9 and they behave differently from each other. It all depends on the combination of O/S and soundcard drivers and the soundcard itself.
