Re: Recorded track but won't play back or save file

we can't get it to work at all on Vista, so had to downgrade to XP ... Some of us would regard that move as an upgrade :) You might want to consider upgrading your Audacity to 1.3.11 when it gets released soon - even though it is Beta, it is late Beta and fairly mature now, approaching release cand...

Amplify will work on both stereo channels together - ampplifiying them by the same amount. Normalize will operate on each sterreo channel separately - raising them to the level you specify. ...

Re: Recorder timer

I have just used the timer to end a recording. Just before the timer expired I needed to extend the time so I hit cancel on the timer. What it did was to cancel the whole recording without saving it. Work on your on-board hard drive for active projects - when the projects are completed Export them as WAV files to the Maxstor and delete the project files from your onboard drive.

Re: How to get defaults to work right in export-multiple?

Remember I'm doing this on linux. Some of the stuff is for my wife, and will end up on her mac. I suppose if I were sufficiently motivated I could negotiate with her for her machine and set up to do everything through there, but that's probably not a recipe for success :) Aahhh, I see ... I wondere...

Re: Recording Problem

Broken cable? Busted plug?

Just because cabling worked before it doesn't mean it works now - just ask my cats who once managed a similar slight "reconfiguration" for me ! :(
