Re: No Stereo -- One Channel Only

In which case I'm puzzled and stumped, the USBPhonoPlus is a stereo device :(

Have you tried contacting ART - they don't seem to have a telephone helpline but they give this emai address for technical support: [email protected]

Re: Recording in stereo, but one ear gives continual hum

Check that all four connectors on the cartridge are pushed home and secure - do this very carefully . And make sure the headshell is srewed home securely. Also check the USB lead - both ends - unplug/replug or gently wiggle - try a different USB port on your computer. By the way you really should up...

Re: Best settings for audio cassettes.

@fergus - is there a gain control (volume control) on the USB cassette player?

Which model of USB cassette player do you have?

Which is why I suggested that you may want to start a feature request on the forum :)

Re: No Stereo -- One Channel Only

Go to Edit > Preferences and click on Devices in the list on the left - the bottom box on the right is labelled Recording - there is a dropdown in there labelled Channels - set this to 2 (stereo) . I have an ARTcessories DJPreII pre-amp (same as yours - but yours has a USB soundcard onboard too - I ...

Re: Audacity Library

Ok, back to basics here. Audacity projects are not intended to be playable, transportable, music files. Rather they are a production environment - a workbench for capture and editing. They can be brittle and fragile - this forum littered with folks who have lost or damaged projects. One the producti...

Re: Export Multiple Creates Really Long Last Track!

Just a quick note that most people consider Labels as song separators. They're not. They're song beginnings. The last song in the bunch needs to have a label at the end of it telling Audacity that you have one more song in the bunch that you're going to throw away. If you don't do that, Audacity wi...

Re: ION Turntable & I am so stupid

My wife, god bless her soul, bought me an ION TTUSB turntable for Christmas. As I have over 2000 vinyl records in my library, she thought, and rightly so, that this would be a good long-term conversion project. ROFL  long-term indeed - I converted about 250 LPs and some 45s that was a 2.5 year...

Re: ION Turntable & I am so stupid

And before you go right off the end, it's probably good to know that the forum is filled with people who couldn't get an ION turntable to work, although they usually make it through one or two albums and then fail. Actually mine did work fine (ION iTTUSB) but the ION manual was inadequate (wrong in...

Re: Newbie needs help.

Graeme, if all you are working on is single track stereo pair projects - then an Export of a safety copy to a WAV file every now and again may keep your data more secure in the future. Also I would recommend using the Beta version of Audacity - but wait for 1.3.11 to be released which should be any ...
