Have you by any chance left the Audacity output slider turned right down? It's the one with the little black loudspeaker icon.

Re: Vinyl To WAV and MP3 Album & Tracks
Thank you for presenting the obvious - numbering the tracks. I am ahead of you in the purchase of a second disk drive - I have three external drives. Two are held in my safe deposit box at the bank - they are my grandfathered backup. I do a complete disk backup once a week. Rotate in the newest and...

Re: Update Display While Playing
In which case when recording try zooming out a long way - so the whole recording will fit in one screen say. That way you don't get the refreshes.

Re: Finding the rest of your clip after editing
Nope - unless you had made a safety copy - Audacity just works on what you give it - and as I said before Audacity is a "destructive" editor. IIRC there are audio editors that keep all the clippings and stuff, but not Audacity. But if it's taught you to make a safety copy of the rew captur...

Yes, that's exactly what I mean.bob_e_s wrote: Do you mean that even if the individual tracks aren't clipping, they can clip once you play them together? If so, I think I've noticed this and I'll take your advice to rectify it.

Re: Export Multiple
Do you have any non-standard characters in your filenames? Use only alphanumeric and dash "-". And you should really upgrade - 1.2.4 is absolutely ancient - it was replaced by 1.2.6 (the officially stable version) a long while ago. And you should consider the latest Beta 1.3.11 which is pr...

Re: Recording Quality
Actually no Koz. Stingray can work on his projects in Audacity abd the Export them directly to the external drive, Audacity need the high speed on-board disk access for capture and editing (particularly for capture) - but when exporting this speed is not required. I just tested this on a small 2-son...

Re: Best settings for audio cassettes.
Would these guesses be correct ? Sounds right to me 1. Does the Output volume meter need to be set at a particular level when you are recording or is its use for just when you are playing the recording. No it should have no impact on the recording level. You may need to use it if you use "soft...

Re: Finding the rest of your clip after editing
Audacity is a "destructive" editor so there is no editing room floor with the little clips left lighing arind - sigh... It does have an Undo feature which wil enable you to unwind previous editing steps - but the Undo history is lost when you close Audacity - it won't be there when you reo...
