Re: New Vinyl Getting Skips

I certainly wouldn't use a USB TT with a platter that size. I would also avoid buying a low-end USB TT - they are often built with very lightweight platters and other cheap components and can give you noticeable wow&flutter. I do recall some recent reports from a satisfied user of a Stanton USB ...

Re: Easy Auto Cross-Fade implementation

Just so you know. This FR will stay here on the forum for a month or so to see if it attacts further comments/votes (actually technically one month until it has no further comments). Re: Easy Auto Cross-Fade implementation

This has been requested before - and now sits on the Audacity Wiki Feature REquests page. See: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Feature_Requests and search for "Automatic Cross-fading".

Re: new mixer bought trying to record

Re: imput volume

Roy, yup similar behaviour on my XP systems with my Edirol external soundcard with 1.3.10 and 1.3.11 (in 1.3.11 both sliders are ganged together - and the output slider has no impact on the output volume). The developers are aware of this as I raised bug reports for 1.3.10 & 11 BTW don't use 1.3...

Re: extending silence

Roy, just place your cursor where the silence is required - and go to Generate > Silence... The pop-up dialog box will let you choose the length of silence you require. BTW: You don't need any "time" to add a point label - I typically leave a 0.5 second run-un and a 1.5 second run-out for ...

Re: new to audactiy

You just need to turn off the "Snap To" - see bottom left corner of the Audacity window - go there and un-check the tick-box.
