I certainly wouldn't use a USB TT with a platter that size. I would also avoid buying a low-end USB TT - they are often built with very lightweight platters and other cheap components and can give you noticeable wow&flutter. Roy, yup similar behaviour on my XP systems with my Edirol external soundcard with 1.3.10 and 1.3.11 (in 1.3.11 both sliders are ganged together - and the output slider has no impact on the output volume). You just need to turn off the "Snap To" - see bottom left corner of the Audacity window - go there and un-check the tick-box.
