We have a lot of users who say just that - but it always turns out when they examine the file in detail that it is not a proper WAV file.
It would probably help if you told the forum which digital recorder you are using.

Re: USB turntable - input too loud
I bought a cable to connect the turntable with the red and white plug and to the blue circle of my soundcard. Now the blue wave form looks right, but the sound is still not good. Is this the best such a turntable can make? OK so then you are using your USB TT as a normal analog turntable. It may be...

Re: I cannpt slow down file to hear at normal pace
You are almost certainly trying to import a file type that Audacity does not support. Audacity Supports WAV, MP3, OGG and FLAC & MP2 in 1.3. The screech thay you may hear is Audacity 1.2's inelegant way of telling you that it can't handle the file type you've given it - in 1.3.x a more appropria...

A vintage amp could well have a phono pre-amp stage in it already - so check before you buy a pre-amp.prosser99 wrote: ... I'm going to get a new pre-amp, vintage amp, and cartridge. ...

Re: Audacity display problem
Please don't double-post (especially in the wrong part of the forum) - it only wastes people's time and doesn't get your question answered any quicker. I have removed the duplicate for you. I seem to recall seeing similar queries and IIRC it was down to the graphics card and its s/w drivers. Try rea...

Re: Click removal ignores some clicks
See also this sticky thread: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=1994 What I do is: capture, then click/pop removal with ClickRepair as the first bit of processing, the other editing including breaking up the audio into tracks and cleaning up the inter-track gaps - finally I use E...

Re: EXPORT DIRECT TO ITUNES WITHOUT CREATING AUDACITY FILE
I do this by exporting a set of Wav files importing those into iTunes and ten using iTunes to convert the WAVs into Apple's AAC format. See this sticky thread: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 28&t=18759

And lubricate the bearings.
Do this lightly with a very light machine oil - I use sewing machine oil.

Re: LP to CD audio
The tools you want are available under the Effects menu - you will need to select some audio for the effects to become operable. Audacity does have Click Removal (but it's not the sharpest chisel in the tool-box). Instead for my click&pop removal I use an excellent little piece of software calle...

Re: distortion at a certain time
Usually this is down to a bad USB connection - lead or plugs, or possibly the USB port (you're not using a USB hub are you? This is not recommended.) Or it could be fault in the USB services in the TT itself.
