You are creating a feedback looop in your recording.

Can you try this again with the latest Beta release 1.3.11 (Or even the Alpha 1.3.12). 1,3,8 is sufficiently old now that the developers will not respond to bug reports in it.

Short answer: no.
Once the file has been compressed at 128 the compression damage that it suffered in producing the samll audio file is there forever.
